The History of the Burton Joyce Players continued:-
The 'Burton Joyce Players' is a member of Nottingham and Notts. Drama Association
(NANDA), and every year we enter one or more of our plays into the NANDA Play of
the Year competition. This involves an adjudicator coming to one of the performances,
followed by a written appraisal of the play. At the end of the year, all the societies
involved gather for an 'Oscar' style ceremony, when a range of trophies are awarded.
We have been very successful over the years, we have won many Best and Best Supporting
Actor/Actress awards, special awards from the adjudicator ( Independent Street and
Eckersley Rising), and winning the coveted Best Play award for Don't Dress for Dinner.
We have also entered the NANDA one-
The Society is going from strength to strength. Our audiences over the past years
have grown, and our membership is strong, however we always welcome new members both
on stage and for a range of activities backstage. We will continue to endeavor to
